First of all, when writing a positive letter you should fallow block style letter format. You should leave one blank space between addresses ( yours and recipient’s) , salutation and paragraphs. At the end of the letter, you should live one blank space, write a closing phrase ( for example: sincerely), leave three blank spaces for your signature, and then at the very end, type your name. Here is an example of a positive letter format:
You should follow these steps when writing a positive letter:
- State the good news in the first paragraph. Your first sentence should tell the reader right away what the good news are. The good new should be stated very clearly. The first paragraph should include most important details of the good news.
- The second paragraph should include the necessary follow-up details. In this paragraph you should explain everything to the reader, and give all of the information that the reader may need.
- The third paragraph should include clear description of limits or negative elements. Sometimes the good news come with some limits so it is extremely important to inform the reader about it. It is also very important to “ present the negative elements as positively as possible”.
- At the end of the letter you should include a goodwill ending. You should also give the reader a chance to ask some possible questions by giving them your email address or phone number, so they will be able to contact you.
If you fallow these steps and use block style letter format you should not have any problems with writing an excellent positive letter.

Your post is very informative and I think if someone was trying to write a positive letter they would have a good idea after reading the steps you included. You have a few gramatical errors but im sure my post has its flaws. Its very hard to spot errors in your own work. Overall I think you did very well describing how to write positive letters.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment. I really appreciate your opinion. I agree that it is hard to find errors in your own work and I will try to do a better job in the future.
ReplyDeleteYour blog is very informative. There are some grammer errors as well as some sentences that could be formatted better. Overall a great blog post. It has a great introduction. It was very welcoming thereby encouraging the reader to continue on.
ReplyDeleteI like that you included a visual in your blog. This provides a good sense and idea of what a positive letter is. I also like the format of your blog. It is very organized. I feel that the introduction is your strongest part of the blog. Very informative. Grammar errors are bound to happen, just keep a look out for those types of mistakes. Great job with this blog!
ReplyDeleteMagda,
ReplyDeleteWow! Great blog! I really thought you did a great job. There was a lot of voice at the beginning and made it a very welcoming introduction into your blog, allowing the reader to want to continue on and respect what it is you have to say. As everyone has stated, there are a few things to look out for example you typed the word "live" when you meant to say "leave", but those things are bound to happen, I find I normally catch my mistakes (or as many as I can) when I read my work out loud (seeing as I make little spelling mistakes and such all the time). I thought it was a great idea to include an image in your post as well. It allowed visual learners to see what it is you were describing when discussing such things as spacing and block formatting. I also thought you did a good job explaining what each paragraph should include within a positive letter and provided detail for each. I also liked how you broke yours into sections and used different styles to present the information rather than just listing your points. Overall great job on the first blog, it was a pleasure to read and an informative and helpful blog for readers.
Proofread your work before posting. Thanks for including a graphic but it was hard to read. Good tips for writing postive letters.
