Emails
When typing an email it is important to keep in mind to whom the email is addressed to. Based upon who the intended audience is emails will vary quite differently from person to person.
Some things to keep in mind when writing a email:
- Some emails will be sent to a large group of individuals.
- Some emails require a timely response.
- Many recipients are geographically distant.
- Emails can be printed and distributed.
Internal emails are different than external emails in the following ways:
- Internal documents can often be less formal than external documents.
- Internal documents generally do not include formal greetings and closing statements.
- Emails are often, but not always, less detailed than other types of documents.

Include more of your personality in your next blog. These are just facts and steps, make sure to relate the blog back to yourself and get in the habit of using "I" alot. Your blog sounds to textbook-y. Otherwise, great format.
ReplyDeleteYour post is clear and concise. I like that you listed things that we should keep in mind when writing emails. I also agree that internal emails are usually less formal then external ones. In addition, I like the visual that you included in your post. Unfortunately, I don’t see your voice in this post. You don’t use any “I” in your post. I think that you should work on using your voice in your posts. I also feel like you did not put that much effort into this blog post. There is much more to say about emails. For example, you could also talk about basic elements of emails. Overall, good job!
ReplyDeleteAnthony,
ReplyDeleteEach week you deliver a clear and concise post with great points. With that said, however, I must agree with what Carly and Magda said that there is a lack of "I" found in your blogs. One of the main things of blog writing is that it is like an electronic journal so the use of personal experience, thoughts, and overall voice is key.
I think you mentioned some good points that one needs to keep in mind when writing emails and external versus internal so that I appreciated. I also thought your introduction to the topic was good. Even with that I just feel that there is still more to be said about emails and writing them though.Great format and points included, but for the last blog really try to include you and your voice into the post as well as more time and thought into it.
